The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIS) has developed the 'Supporting you to make your own decisions' Consultation Paper that addresses how NDIS Participants can be better supported in making decisions. Avenues Australia has prepared a response to this supported decision-making Consultation Paper . Our response provides suggestions on the operational complexities and barriers in implementing supported decision-making within the NDIS. We have developed this response collaboratively throughout the organisation and requested input from staff and clients. Responses to six out of the fourteen questions have been addressed in this paper along with comments and recommendations on the proposed Decision-Making Capability Framework.
